The Grape & Ale has a full events calendar! You can enjoy: free beer tastings on Thursdays from 5:30pm to 7:30pm and free wine tastings on Fridays from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at their Oak Island location. You'll even find live music on Saturdays from 2:00pm - 04:00pm!

Oak Island Christmas Tree Lighting

Celebrate the holiday season at the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting with the Town of Oak Island! Head to the Middleton Park Complex on Friday, December 6, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm for an evening of festive fun. Enjoy train rides, live music by The Ford Project, craft stations, holiday market shopping, and a chance for kids to write letters to Santa. Santa himself will also make a special appearance! Gather with the community as we count down together to the lighting of the tree and kick off the season with holiday cheer.

Oak Island Holiday Market

On Sunday, December 8, from 10:00am to 2:00pm., experience holiday shopping with a coastal twist at the Oak Island Holiday Market! This festive open-air event brings together a variety of local vendors offering unique, handcrafted treasures and seasonal produce, perfect for those looking to give a one-of-a-kind gift this season. Stroll through the market’s charming holiday atmosphere, support talented local artisans, and discover island-inspired finds for everyone on your list.

Southport Winterfest: Light Up the Night Christmas Parade

Get ready for an evening of festive fun with the Light Up the Night Christmas Parade presented by the Southport Fire Department! Starting at 5:30pm on December 13th, kids are invited to hop aboard the fire engines at the Southport Fire Station, adding a touch of magic to the evening. The parade officially kicks off at 6:30pm, winding from Waterfront Park, down Howe Street, and back to the fire station. After the parade, stick around for a visit with Santa and enjoy treats from local vendors!

Southport Winterfest: Winter Craft Festival

Embrace the holiday spirit at Southport’s Annual Winter Craft Festival! Held on Bay Street, this farmer’s market-style event is open on December 14th from 9:00am to 4:00pm., offering a delightful selection of seasonal produce, homemade baked goods, jams, and one-of-a-kind local art. Stroll through the park, pick up some unique holiday gifts, and enjoy the welcoming atmosphere that makes Southport’s winter festivities so special!

Southport Winterfest Flotilla

On Saturday, December 14th, join the festive spirit as the Southport Winterfest Flotilla lights up the waterfront for its 30th spectacular year! This annual holiday tradition brings boats of all shapes and sizes — decked out in dazzling lights and holiday decorations — to create a magical sight on the water. Bring your family, friends, and some cozy chairs to the marina for a front-row seat to the celebration! Adding to the fun, the sail, power, and paddle boats will be judged by local young artists from the Southport Elementary School Art Program.
