Oak Island Beach Gear Credit

We’re so thrilled to partner with VayKLife to bring you beach gear for your next vacation — starting Spring 2024

Guests with 3 to 21 night reservations between April 1, 2024 and October 31, 2024 at participating Salt & Sand Realty properties will receive a credit toward beach gear rentals during their stay!*

You can use your credit for bicycles, bodyboards, kayaks, chairs and umbrellas, beach carts, and more — the choice is yours! The credit amount varies based on the property you book and the time of year you’re visiting. You’ll find the specific amount and more details within the property descriptions for each participating property.

How Does it Work?

Once you’ve made your reservation at one of our participating Oak Island Island vacation rental properties, you’ll receive an email from VayKLife (formerly VayKGear) to make your selection via the customized beach gear website.

If you reach the credit limit, you can still add additional items priced at their exclusive, discounted rates. Your gear will even be delivered to your rental property on the day you arrive and will be picked up the day you depart.

Please note, there is a $25 delivery fee for all orders. If orders exceed $60 over the amount of your credit, then the delivery fee is waived and delivery is FREE!

*Credit is applicable to guest reservations of 3 to 21 nights only. The reservation must have been made on or after October 20, 2023. There is no cash value if the credit is not used. Some properties may not participate in this program and will not have any reference to beach gear credit in their property descriptions.

  • How do I use my beach gear credit?

    Check your email. You will receive an email from VayKLife after you make a vacation rental reservation with a custom link to use your Beach Gear Credit.

  • When can I place my order?

    You can place your order up to 48 hours prior to your scheduled check-in date without incurring a late fee. Your credit/discount expires at 4PM EST on the day after your scheduled check-in date. Gear is subject to availability and delivery or late fees may apply, so we recommend ordering as soon as you receive your welcome email from VayKLife.

  • Do I have to select my gear right after I book a vacation home?

    While you can order your beach gear up to 48 hours in advance of your reservation, we recommend selecting your items as early as possible. There is a limited inventory and gear is subject to availability. We expect certain items, like bicycles, will be in high demand during the peak season (June through August) — so the earlier you pick, the more of a chance you'll have at securing the gear you want.

  • What if I want more than my allotted credit of beach gear?

    If you reach your beach gear credit limit, you can still add additional items priced at their exclusive, discounted rates.

  • Is there a delivery fee?

    There is a $25 delivery fee for all orders. If orders exceed $60 over the amount of your credit, then the delivery fee is waived and delivery is FREE!

  • What happens if I don’t use all of the credit?

    Your credit is only good for the vacation rental booking you made. Credit expires 24 hours after you arrive, so make sure you use all of your credit.

  • Do I need to put down a deposit for the gear?

    No, but VayKLife keeps a credit card on file for any damaged or lost gear.

  • What do I do with the gear when we check out?

    Just leave your gear clean and where you found it the night before your check out day (gear pickups start at 6AM EST). VayKLife will take care of the rest!
