Oak Island Par Three Golf Course is nestled between the beaches of Oak Island and historic Southport, close to the Cape Fear Jetport. This links-style course was designed by Edwin Burnett in 2002 and is an excellent choice for players of all skill levels.

It truly offers a fun, challenging experience for all golfers, from the very young to the seasoned player. The 1,951-yard course welcomes daily players, and you can rent a golf cart onsite or meander through the superbly manicured greens and fairways at your leisure.

Carolina National Golf Club is a Fred Couples signature golf course, boasting 27 holes winding through stunning low country terrain. As you progress through your round, you’ll enjoy dramatic views over the Lockwood Folly River and some of the 100 acres of wetlands common to the area.

This semi-private club holds pride of place close to Myrtle Beach and Wilmington, about 12 miles from Oak Island. Daily visitors are welcome at this semi-private club, but it’s best to book your public tee-time well in advance.

The onsite Plantation Grille offers fine dining and casual lunches daily and Tuesday and Friday dinner events. The seasonal menu showcases local ingredients, and you can look forward to enjoying premium liquors and wines with your meal.

The Lakes Country Club

The Lakes Country Club is a semi-private 18-hole, par-72 golf course offering numerous water and bunker challenges. Revered golf course architect, George Riccaboni, designed the course in 1962. The Lakes course boasts a 4-star rating from Golf Digest and is popular for its well-maintained spaces and challenging topography.

Lovely pine forests surround the course, offering glimpses of the local wildlife and birds, and The Sunset Grill is ideal for lunch, dinner, or post-game drinks.

Olde Fort Golf Club

A little further afield, the Olde Fort Golf Club offers an 18-hole par-72 regulation course about 30 minutes from Oak Island. Rayford Trask designed the course in 1989, and it’s an outstanding venue for new golfers to learn the ropes. While you’re in the area, take the opportunity to visit the Fort Fisher Aquarium before making your way back to Oak Island.
